The Importance of Regular Solar PV Health Checks

Why Regular Solar PV Health Checks Matter

Your solar system is a long-term investment. A simple routine check can help you notice changes before they become bigger problems.

What can change?

PV systems operate outdoors for many years. Panels, inverters, connections and the surrounding environment can all affect system performance.

  • Changes in panel performance
  • New shading or obstruction
  • Dirt or environmental effects
  • Inverter issues
  • Electrical or connection problems

Why establish a reference?

A single measurement tells you what is happening at that moment. A reference gives you something against which later measurements can be compared.

PVBuddy provides a practical way to establish that reference. PVS01 measures irradiance and can be tuned using Flexi-Cal™ against an inverter kWh reference or a suitable calibrated irradiance meter.

Repeat rather than guess

Perform repeat checks under comparable, stable sunlight conditions. If the result changes significantly from your established reference, it provides a reason to investigate further.

PVBuddy is a comparative field assessment tool and does not replace professional inspection or certified measurement where required.
